Owner, Rider & Trainer

Brooke Kemper has shown personal and client horses to success across all divisions in hunter-jumper sport, from the local circuit to the international division at the nation's most premier horse shows.

Kemper began riding at her mother Darlene Kemper's Kemper Knoll Farm, where she broke ponies and horses, helped with lessons and assisted with running the local horse shows held at the farm. Kemper went on to ride under Paul Mathews as a junior rider before riding and training professionally. Starting Shadow Pond Stables in 2012, Kemper has established herself as a skilled and patient trainer, with a keen ability to identify equine potential.

Among her many accomplishments, Kemper has trained top performers at the USHJA Zone Championships, National Horse Show, USEF Pony Finals and Washington International Horse Show. She developed her own Classified to an accomplished record at the National Standard Grand Prix and international levels before bringing Caroline Blum’s Arpeggi up to the CSI4* level, with eight top 10 placings in FEI Grand Prix competition between July 2021 and April 2022. In 2021, she also rode Caroline Blum’s MTM Kappa Kappa Gamma to the 8-Year-Old Jumper Championship and Platinum Life LLC's TikTok Z to Co-Championship honors in the 4-Year-Old Jumper Championship at the inaugural USHJA Young Jumper Championships.

Kemper possesses the skill and knowledge to guide even the most seasoned horses and riders to the top of their game, and she continues to pursue top level sport, both in the saddle and with her students. Brooke now runs Shadow Pond Stables alongside her husband, Nigel Potts. The operation is proud to offer full-service care, training and instruction both at home and at competitions across the country, and offer select horses and ponies for sale.
